if you never forget the beginning, you'll never see the end.
I liked you before you got big, you know, when you were still covering songs at coffee bars on Friday nights. I won't let go of the times your sultry smile passed me between sets of undecided songs and your crude, though well-headed, humor. Especially when your voice went low, and my heart jumped into my throat. When you'd take our clothes off and play the song you wrote me like you'd never played on stage before. Boys like you aren't a dime a dozen, you're one in a million.
